now to Galilee

This morning we left Jerusalem, heading south to pass Jericho, then taking the road north to the Sea of Galilee.

As always the day is full of stories. Each evening before dinner we gather to share the moments of the day that have most deeply touched us.

On our journey north we stopped at the excavations of the ancient city of Beit She'an.

Below our group wanders in the excavations

and now we use the communal bathroom

and later in the day we arrived at the spot where the Jordan River leaves the Sea of Galilee. This place is  the most likely (according to the Gospel of John) baptismal place of Jesus.
