for foster fathers, and workers

It's the feast of St. Joseph the worker today. One of two annual feasts of Joseph. The other is March 19. This morning during prayer I was surprised to note that one of the statues in St. Therese of Liseux Church, Chatham Islands, is not just of St. Joseph, but of him as the carpenter, the worker - note that he is holding a builder's square.

And on this feast I also think of and pray for all those men who are fathering children who, while not their biological children, are the children they love and care for and provide for as their step or foster children.  You can read more about this clicking here to visit an earlier blog entry.
