built in faith, at Brackenbridge

Thank you to those who replied to the earlier post titled "Brackenridge."  I had raised a question about the spelling. It seemed that secular accounts of the Church refer to it as "Brackenridge" while Church documents call it "Brackenbridge." ie with a 'b'

The Church documents are correct - it is Brackenbridge - and early parish picnics were held at the bridge near the Church.

During the week I discovered Michael Hanrahan's superb book "Built In Faith".  You can order this book via the Christchurch diocese archive newsletter article. Click on the image to go to the newsletter.
