Our concern for the people of the Philippines following the earthquake last month and Typhoon at the weekend continues and deepens. Our thoughts turn to how we can help.
A significant percentage of the parishioners of our Good Shepherd Parish Hurunui were born in the Philippines and in these hours they are especially anxious about friends and family at home. Tomorrow evening I will celebrate Mass with these parishioners.
If you have neighbours or workmates whom you know to be from the Philippines, this might be a good opportunity to make contact with them, even if you have not met them yet. It is difficult to be far from home at a time like this. Your support will certainly be appreciated, and may well be needed.
